Thundery Sunday

A day of thunderstorms and periodic heavy rain, not the best day to welcome us back after our days off. Not to be dismayed the team got stuck right back in with a little light sandbag removal.

At least the sandbags are pretty non-slip in the wet, even if they do get heavier when waterlogged.

The wandering sheep were looking at least looking quite impressed as they inspected the (freshly strimmed last week) Norse longhouse which is one of the later buildings on site:

It's going to be a week of mixed weather, but hopefully a bit drier than today, we should be into the archaeology this week too after all our efforts to get the site uncovered.
