Shifting sandbags - think we've been here before

Hard at work shifting sandbags which we carefully put down at the end of last season. I know exactly how many we have because I was there when we filled them: 2,000 to be precise.

They are a lot easier to shift than stone and have done a great job of protecting the site over the winter. We moved on to stone shifting in the late morning as we always have to use stone to cover the lower levels, sandbags not being a terribly good idea in areas that are likely to be underwater during a big tide with a wind at the back of it. The lower levels are also now covered in rotting seaweed, which is a treat for another day. Hopefully tomorrow we can get the covers off at least part of the site, we also have to get our signboards out so people can find us when we officially open to visitors on Thursday. See our website at https://www.swandro.co.uk/visit for details and you'll be made very welcome.
