Having given you a teaser yesterday of Rose's star pot find, it was so good that I thought it deserved star billing today too when it was carefully lifted. You have to admit it's a pretty impressive pot, considering it's been in the ground for about 2,000 years or so:

Elsewhere Caz finally got to lift the lid on a little stone lined box, which she found right at the end of last season but didn't uncover then as there was a fair bit of other stratigraphy to come off before it could be opened:

It was originally covered by one slab but this has snapped over the years so came off in several pieces:

Nothing in it but some washed in sediment, which when removed revealed the broken floor slab. There's also an interesting reused slab with a big notch in it on one side. Not sure yet what it was for, but it's adjacent to a large hearth so may be related to the use of that:

The drones were out and about today too - both Steve's and Lindsay's - as not quite as windy as yesterday and there was a lot of site photography and photogrammetry to catch up on:

Lindsey is something of a drone whisperer and has been amazing me for years by the way they come to his hand, finally managed to get a little video of it, takes years of training to get your drone that obedient:
