It's officially summer but you'd never know it

Lost the first half of the day to the weather, hammering it down with rain and blowing a fair bit from the west which is just about the least sheltered direction on site. Made it onto site in the afternoon and managed to get the remaining covers off the lower end of site. It's hard work with a wind blowing not helped by trying not to damage any of the underlying archaeology, but as the pics show the team worked hard and did a good job. Hopefully it will start to dry out overnight and we can get to the important task of giving the whole site a good pre-excavation clean up.
