Bit of a soggy day

Started off not too bad, but the Radio Orkney weather forecast had dire warnings of Atlantic Lows which is never a good thing to hear in the morning. Sure enough there was smatterings of rain throughout the day but not enough to stop work proceeding apace:

The spare part for the Total Station arrived by special delivery so we're fully operational again, and our surveying team can relax, even if the machine spent most of the day covered up to keep the rain out.

We had lots of visitors for site tours today, good to see such a lot of interest even in not great weather. We also had our usual visit from the sheep that roam the shore, but today they settled down for a snooze on the rocks, until finally forced to move by the tide coming in:

The rain finally became torrential around 4pm and forced us off site, but the outlook is better for the next few days, in fact tomorrow it looks like we'll need our sunscreen!
