Alice gets greedy...

There's usually a bit of competition for the 'Star Find of the Day' title, and so far this year Alice hasn't won, so today she decided to make absolutely sure of it by coming up with not one, not two, not three but four star finds. She started out with a couple of very nice hammerstones...

...then followed this up with an equally good rubbing stone...

...and finished off with a shed load of pottery:

In the interests of fairness to the other competitors I'm counting all of this tray as one find, Alice did try to make a case for a star find multiplier but that's just greedy and I make the rules so it stays at four star finds of the day:

Alice argued that this bit is so nice that it would make a star find all on its own but I stuck to my guns and the total remained at four:

Today was the last day on site for two of our Bradford students, Cara and Grace, here hard at work on the sieves:

We lost Jonathan - another Bradford student - yesterday, he's off to dig in Iceland via a quick trip home for his first wedding anniversary. They've all been an asset to the excavation team and we wish them well in their future endeavours.
